A tool tip or warning to show what date format is needed in VSE would really help. And/or, accepting multiple date formats would also ease a lot of friction from using dates in VSE. For example, I used "/" instead of "-" and was very confused with why my query didn't work...
Additionally, without the above, using the date picker becomes the fall-back method of getting the date that is needed. But as it stands now I had to click backward x24 to get to a 2019 date. Giving the date picker the ability to "up-level" into months and years for quick access to past dates would also really improve this experience.

Just came back to say this is still tripping up customers, see the screenshot I was sent where she was confused as to what she's doing wrong. The empty state does not indicate what date format to use and she clearly didn't want to click the back arrow to March 2019 (35 clicks...) and to March 2020 (23 clicks lol). At a minimum, can we get a sample date somewhere near the field, but not
in
the field to help customers?

Adding an idea here: can we combine relative and exact date usage for "between"? The example I have is a segment "between Feb 1 2021 and today." Maybe I'm missing the solution, but as it stands I can only calculate backwards from today or select rigid dates.

Belated good point thanks to Sarah, that the field has an example to start but it goes away the second you click in so still think there's room to make it even more clear. And the date picker improvement point still stands imo. :) thanks!
